Estimator: Demolition & Environmental Services - Potomac, Maryland

REMAC is seeking an assertive, dynamic and experienced demolition & environmental estimator to report directly to the President and Director of Operations of REMAC. The successful candidate will work out of the Potomac, MD headquarters.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • • Attending pre-bid meetings throughout DC, MD, VA, PA and WV.
  • • Writing detailed and comprehensive proposals for work not going out on bid.
  • • Estimating formal bidding opportunities with government agencies and the like.
  • • Interfacing in a marketing and networking capacity with GC’s, their PM’s and Estimators.
  • • Actively finding and preparing bid documents and reports.
  • • Creating and interfacing with qualified subcontractors and suppliers.
  • • Accepting, reviewing, and analyzing RFQ’s and RFP’s.
  • • Assisting and managing the preparation of bid packets, proposals and submittals.
  • • Participating, at times, with on-site management and related field work.
  • • Responsible for proper estimating to ensure profitability.

Minimal Required Qualifications:
  • • An undergraduate degree; preferably in accounting, business management or a related field
  • • 5 FULL years of estimating experience in the environmental, heavy industry and/or demolition field
  • • 5 FULL years of field/on-site experience.
  • • Proficiency in all relevant software programs.
  • • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • • Ability to maintain a high degree of precision and exactness.
  • • A strong and self disciplined approach to completing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at one time.

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Jobsite Superintendent - Northern Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland

REMAC is seeking an assertive, dynamic and experienced Jobsite Superintendent to report directly to the Director of Operations.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • • Scheduling of crew, equipment and subcontractors to achieve maximum production in the most efficient manner
  • • Partake in pre con meetings
  • • Ensure that proper safety regulations are followed by company and subcontractor crews
  • • Maintain a high standard of quality control at all times
  • • Maintain daily log with employee hours worked, current progress schedule and review schedule status daily
  • • Responsible for ordering necessary supplies for project
  • • Must have thorough knowledge of the plans and specifications for each project assigned
  • • Supervise subcontract personnel and enforce site safety, quality, and other work plans
  • • Manage on-site activities in accordance with the project schedules
  • • Assist the Project Manager in Project Management duties
  • • Responsible for all other duties as assigned

Minimal Required Qualifications:
  • • MSHA & OSHA certification preferred but not necessary
  • • Must have a high school diploma
  • • 5 FULL years of field/on-site experience
  • • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • • Ability to maintain a high degree of precision and exactness
  • • A strong and self disciplined approach to completing tasks and meeting deadlines
  • • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at one time
  • • Must be a non-smoker
  • • Must have a fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • • Basic knowledge and ability to operate equipment
